“Listen, Medical Marijuana makes me feel  way better and I don’t have to take drugs. I can sleep at night well. Who are you to tell me I can’t smoke it? It burns me up.”

– Perry Parks, Pilot, US Army

Stress, Depression and Anxiety – natural reaction to life’s ongoing issues. In Anxiety disorders, the feelings are chronic, there’s a strong tendency to over study and worry about every little thing.  Sometimes the cause of anxious feelings is legitimate.  For example, if a person is living on the edge barely making their mortgage payment and the job situation is not stable, real factors can escape their control, the world’s realities bring on major anxiety and stress.

“I`d say, the trouble with the rat race is that even if you win, you’re still a rat.” Lily T.

Prescribed meds provide some relief for anxiety as alcohol does.  However these solutions can come at a cost much greater than they bargained for;  horrible alcoholism and drug dependence / addiction.  As we all know, many a great life was ruined or snuffed out through addition.

Fortunately, elite researchers have found that certain strains of Medical Marijuana alleviated the following conditions in clinical settings across the world:

  • General anxiety disorder
  • Social anxiety disorder
  • Separation anxiety disorder
  • Phobia

“I look back on all these worries, and I remember the story of the old man, who said that he had had a lot of troubles in his life, most of which had never happened.” – Winston Churchill

The Science; How Medical Cannabis Helps Treat Stress

For Eons, Marijuana was used to treat mental disorders such as anxiety, stress and even insanity.  Marijuana is described in United States Pharmacopeia – from 1850 until 1942 for these symptoms and also for labor pains, nausea, and rheumatism. In the 1930s, the U.S. Federal Bureau of Narcotics reclassified MMJ as an illegal drug.

“I visited my physician today who wants to put me on anti-depressants again regarding my severe anxiety and depression. Crazy. I was medicated for 2 years on my 1:1 CBD Mango Haze oil I didn’t have any anxiety attack or depression feelings!”   – Won’t say his name

Cannabis’ two main medicinal components called Cannabinoids; THC (psychoactive)  and CBD (non-psychoactive) have been shown in many medical studies to slow the secretion of molecules that create a stressful response.  Through fear reduction, many patients find themselves able to relax once again and regain a positive perspective feeling.

“My grandfather always said, if you have a problem that you can’t solve, helps to get it out of your head. Pie, it’s good.  It might me time we do something crazy. Something that ain’t got nothin’ to do with nothin’. You know what, now I want some pie, some tasty pie. Let’s go get some dumbass pie, let`s do it! “ – Men in Black. Lol.

Anxiety, Stress and Depression cause chemicals known glucocorticoids to be released in the brain as part of a chain of events that creates the feeling of gloom and doom.  In chronic stress, the metabolic switch that controls the release of glucocorticoids is set on high or is even broken in the on position.  Insomnia, tantrums, internalized anger and a host of other negative mental disorders are the unfortunate consequences.

When the Mind is Overwhelmed

Post traumatic stress disorder is a classic example where the mind’s threshold to handle stress is exceeded.  Rape, violence, war cause the mind to lock into an ongoing state of fear and agitation. This chronic disabling condition tortures victims with flashbacks, nightmares and emotional instability. Without treatment, these conditions are damaging mentally and physically to both the patient and their families. Alcoholism, divorce and hypertension are common side effects.
HOW MEDICAL CANNABIS TREATS ANXIETY

“We don’t have good treatments for PTSD right now,” Bakshi said, “There are some cognitive behavioral strategies that help a little bit, but there is no gold standard drug treatment like there is for something such as clinical depression… there is a very, very dire need for [PTSD] medication.”

“I tell you that it makes me feel better.I don’t need to take drugs. I can sleep at night again. Who are you to tell me I can’t smoke cannabis? It burns me up.”  – Perry Parks, US Army helicopter pilot

“The effectiveness of THC in reducing fear and anxiety brain activity was proven with MRI scans.”

“These results suggest that abnormal receptor signaling is implicated in the etiology of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, and provide a stable neurobiological model to develop evidence-based pharmacotherapies for this disorder.”  Molecular Psychiatry.

“Compounds called terpenes (essential oils),  with minty and fruity fragrance, are also found in abundance in some Marijuana strains.  There is strong evidence that terpenes, spearmint, peppermint and essential cannabis oils (BCP) have antimicrobial and anti-depressive 2 properties.”  Mmj Doctor
