AUTOIMMUNE DISORDERS (AD) & MEDICAL MARIJUANA
“Medical Marijuana is effective in treating AutoImmune Disorders. The majority of patients found a substantial improvement of their symptoms Clinical improvement and reduction of immunosuppressive drug therapy in cannabis treated patients with Autoimmune Diseases like Crohn’s disease.” – Dr. JY, Mikuriya (paraphrase)
Inflammation is an essential and natural response of the immune system to infection and insult.
Autoimmune disorders result when the immune system is overactive, activated in error, whereby Natural killer cells Lymphocytes (white blood cells) T cells become loose cannons, “shooting” friendly cells, harmless proteins and pathogens alike. In AD disorders, most often the body’s immune system is overworked fighting real and imaginary threats.
Chronic infections, an overabundance of bad bacteria, or compromised gut membranes allow rogue proteins and peptides into the blood sparking major immune response. At this point, the overburdened immune system becomes punch drunk boxer; Previously formidable, he staggers around the ring swingingly wildly and only to get knocked out.
“As with many life-altering events, an autoimmune illness is almost guaranteed to cause you to re-evaluate your priorities.” Joan Friedlander

Azathioprine Toxic Side Effects: Common mild nausea or vomiting. Long-term use of azathioprine increases the risk of developing certain types of cancers (eg, leukemia, lymphoma, skin cancer). A rare type of cancer called hepatosplenic T-cell lymphoma (HSTCL) has been reported in patients treated with azathioprine. These cases have been fatal.
Most of these cases occurred in teenagers and young adults who had Crohn disease or ulcerative colitis. Some patients who developed this cancer were using azathioprine along with certain other medicines called TNF blockers (eg, infliximab).
