SEIZURES & MEDICAL MARIJUANA
“I suffer from severe headaches and nausea and vomiting after a bad seizure. Medical Marijuana, compared to Phenobarbital, the price on my body – to pay for the barbiturates is far greater. Marijuana is no longer a recreational drug for me. It has become my lifeline to normal seizure-free living.” – Seizure Patient ,T. Sellman (paraphrase)
What are Seizures?
Seizures result from aberrant electrical activity in the brain and central nervous system.
Seizures come in many shapes and sizes, from small shakes to violent convulsions with total loss of control. Small seizures lasting only a few minutes do not cause brain damage -but- longer lasting convulsions can injure the brain permanently. If you were recently diagnosed with Epilepsy, you are not alone. Right now (2016) there are more than 3 million Americans with this disorder.

PATIENT TESTIMONIALS – HOW MEDICAL MARIJUANA HELPS TREAT SEIZURES
“I was disabled due to epilepsy. I had to quit school after the eighth grade to work. I began using marijuana recreationally once in awhile not long after. I went to the University of Texas Medical Center in Galveston and was told that I had pseudoseizures and they referred me to a psychiatrist. I continued to have seizures of an undiagnosed origin until I went to the Parkland Epilepsy Treatment Center. Cut a long story short, the final diagnosis was secondarily generalized tonic/clonic seizures with left hemisphere onset.” – Name not provided
“I went through a horrible series of treatments with anticonvulsant drugs, all unsuccessful. Instead, my seizures went wildly out of control. I noticed that after a good round of medical marijuana my symptoms seemed to be less, so I started smoking regularly. It really worked. – Name not provided
I ran out of marijuana and the seizures came back. I blacked out in the bath, and woke up in a pool of my own blood, having gashed my head wide open in the fall. That was it. In my mind the choice was either smoke pot regularly or die. Today I combine a small dose of Phenobarbital three times daily with my Medical Marijuana.” – T. Sherman (paraphrase)
MMJ DOCTOR: A body of current research suggests that Mr Sherman might do even better on CBD oil or a strain with a balanced Cannabinoid profile – THC:CBD ratio at 1:1 or even 1:4.
